Events & Happenings

Below we've listed events regarding our club. We'll update these as often as we can.

April 2008

April 8: Monthly Meeting. 7PM at the Dragon Palace in Troy.

April 1: All Snomoles' trails are closed for the season. It has been a very good year and we are already looking forward to next season. TRAIL WORK parties are ongoing even though the season is over. One day from all of our members would go a really long way in helping build some bridges, widen and clear the trails. If you would like to find out more on how you can help- plesae email us at: trailadmin@snomoles.org

March 2008

March 11 : Monthly Meeting. 7PM at N.H. Motosports

March 3 : RECKLESS RIDING ON THE TRAILS HAS TO STOP! We’d like to share an email we received from one of our members regarding an incident about a week ago near Annette State Park… Now, the chances of the offender reading this are slim, but there is the chance.
Last week I was riding 2-up with my 3 y.o. son and this guy on a newer Ski-Doo Rev Chassis came up over a hill on a skinny trail between Lake Contoocook and Annette SP going WAY too fast, and in the MIDDLE of the trail, I would guess 50mph.  It was Sunday afternoon.  He locked up the track, which sent him sideways a bit, and he barely missed us.
I think about what injuries me and my son would of had if this guy had hit us.....and I'm SCARED!  I should NOT be SCARED!
Don't get me wrong.  I love to feel the power and rush of acceleration that can be had on a sled.  It is so fun.  But these people need to respect the fact that others are on the trail.  By riding like this guy was, it endangers everyone.  Most of our trails are too narrow for this kind of foolishness.  Keep it on the lake!!  Ride Responsibly!!
Plus this kind of riding tears the hell out of your fine grooming job!  BTW, superb job all year.  Just a thought for a post.
-mike

Now- personally, I know exactly how Mike feels- the same thing happened to me last year only up North. I could see how big his eyes were - knowing he was out of control sliding sideways about to hit me and my 3 year old daughter out for what was supposed to be a leisurely ride.  Only for me it wasn’t over, his 2 cronies trying to catch him presented the same scenario 2 more times! How we missed I will never know!
If you drive like this -PLEASE STOP!  If you see someone doing it, (and we know this is a stretch) take down their registration number. Send it to us, we’ll contact the authorities gladly. We want our trails to be fun and SAFE for the entire family.
